CareerOne.com.au Records Highest Ever Traffic for October
Fifth record month in 2008
News Digital Careers today announced that its online employment brand, CareerOne.com.au has achieved a record month in traffic for the second month in a row.
According to the latest Nielsen Market Intelligence Ranking Report, CareerOne.com.au recorded 1,457,504 unique browsers in October 2008. This represents an 8 per cent growth on the number of unique browsers who visited the site in September 2008.
October 2008 marks the fifth month in 2008 where CareerOne.com.au has achieved a record number of unique browsers. The site also achieved record traffic numbers in January, May, June, July and September this year.
Dr. Stephen Hollings, chief executive officer of News Digital Careers indicated how rewarding it was to see the CareerOne.com.au brand successfully grow and develop over the last 12 months.
“Twelve months ago CareerOne.com.au traffic numbers were hovering around one million unique browsers a month. It is a huge achievement to pass 1.4 million browsers for the first time ever. “Over the last year, CareerOne.com.au has consistently invested in the category. This has resulted in strong growth and an ever increasing audience for advertisers listing their jobs on our site.”
Recent economic factors have seen aggregate figures for the online employment category at record levels.
“In October, we saw the first signs that the economic climate has truly impacted the Australian employment market and we would expect that this impact will be stronger as we head into 2009.
“Based on current trends during these economic times, the online employment market looks set for record browser numbers in January 2009, a time when it has traditionally seen a lift in traffic that is sustained for the year – that is truly promising for the online employment market next year.
“CareerOne.com.au will continue to provide support for job hunters as they are faced with uncertain times and we will continue to build our audience and business to deliver greater value for our advertisers.
“We know that there will be sectors experiencing a skills shortage and will do all that we can to ensure a flow of quality candidates to our advertisers.”
In October, CareerOne.com.au also launched its Personality Profiler - a free five minute online assessment that matches available jobs with particular personalities. The launch of the CareerOne.com.au Personality Profiler followed the launch of eBay Jobs – a partnership enabling eBay users to search for CareerOne.com.au jobs and access career advice on eBay.com.au.
