GetPrice.com.au launches new personalised website
Comparison shopping site makes finding what you want easier Australia’s leading independent comparison shopping site, GetPrice.com.au, today announced the launch of its new website, introducing a range of tools to personalise the user’s online shopping experience.
GetPrice.com.au managing director, Chris Hitchen, said the new website extended the online shopping experience by adding depth to each product page. Mr Hitchen said GetPrice.com.au had also achieved an Australian-first in transparency by enabling shoppers to compare products according to criteria other than price such as the comparison of warranties, energy ratings and delivery times.
”Shopping is a very personal experience. With our new website, important retailer and product information is provided such as delivery costs, warranty details, payment options, feedback and ratings from other shoppers,” he said.
“The new site will also display promotions from the retailers themselves meaning fewer clicks by the online shopper before they find all the information they need.”
Other new features include: - A new search algorithm resulting in faster searches and more relevant results;
- Buying guides (i.e. LCD V Plasma) and video reviews to assist users in determining the right product and store for them;
- User-generated reviews so shoppers can see which products and stores are favoured by their peers/others;
- Brand shops: giving brands the ability to showcase their products;
- Personalisation: allowing users to view past searches and product recommendations that might be of interest (based on behaviour);
- Data warehouse for the collation of data on what consumers want, which brands are hot and pricing trends to help manufacturers, retailers, media agencies and research companies make and market products that better suit consumer needs and wants.
Mr Hitchen continued: “Shoppers want to find the product they’re looking for as quickly as possible and tend to consider other factors in addition to price when searching for goods.”
“Given the prominence of the climate change debate and the prospect of energy price rises, consumers are, for instance, interested in comparing the energy usage of whitegoods.
“Our users also like to read customer reviews and compare warranties, delivery times and payment options.”
Mr Hitchen said the new website was more intuitive, monitoring buyer behaviour so users could view past searches and recommendations on products that might be of interest.
“The added personalisation of the new GetPrice site is one of its key strengths,” Mr Hitchen said. “Time poor, savvy consumers don’t want to be bombarded with irrelevant product information and they really appreciate intuitive product recommendations based on their past buying behaviour.”
The new site follows a GetPrice.com.au survey, which found that most Australians are more confident shopping online now than in the past and that shopping online delivers better value for money.
“The benefits of online shopping speak for themselves,” Mr Hitchen said. “GetPrice.com.au has just made online shopping even easier, more enjoyable and more interactive by launching its new site.”
