Online learning and compliance management centre, Learning Seat, today announced the signing of the Rugby League World Cup 2008 as a client. Under this partnership,
Learning Seat will deliver training to the more than 350 volunteers taking part in the 2008 Rugby League World Cup, which runs from this Saturday 25 October until 22 November.
Rugby League World Cup tournament director Colin Love AM, emphasised the importance in providing first-class training for the event volunteers.
“The Rugby League World Cup is a global event, as host nation we are dedicated to showcasing the best Australia has to offer which means our volunteers need in-depth training.
“For an event being held across 10 cities, it can become a logistical nightmare to co-ordinate volunteers and provide them with the best training available.
“The Learning Seat platform has enabled us to reach volunteers from Townsville to Melbourne and provide them with the exact information and training requirements for the event.”
The Volunteer Training Program gives volunteers training on:
- Volunteer logistics and administration
- Transport to and from venues
- Staff structure
- Incident management
- Workplace safety
- Fair treatment of volunteers
- Venue evacuations
- Volunteer divisions
- What to do at the end of the event
Michael Solomon, chief executive officer, Learning Seat said that there has been a growing need for event volunteers to receive online training.
